Moinho do Petisco is located in Montedor, Carreço, on a small hill called Monte do Facho, a few metres from the Montedor Lighthouse. It is an old circular masonry windmill with wooden sails, built in 1855. It was originally erected on the site where the lighthouse stands today, but was moved to its current location in 1905, remaining in full operation until 1977. In addition to its picturesque beauty, the Petisco Mill recalls the old methods of grinding wheat and corn in the region, preserving the operational grinding system. Recently restored and operational again since 2002, it has become another rural attraction linked to the local heritage, transporting us back to rural life in the 19th century.
